Full form of CBI :

The full form of CBI is Central Bureau of Investigation.

The head office of CBI is in New Delhi. This is the largest investigative agency of the country, which investigates matters related to crime and national security. The name CBI was given on 1 April 1963.

Work of CBI officer :

• The work of CBI is to help the Government of India at the national and international level.

• CBI investigates cases like special crimes, terrorism, bomb blasts, kidnapping, international crimes.

• Anticorruption Division investigates economic crimes and scams committed by government employees, PSUs, government institutions, public representatives.

• CBI looks after cases related to export import, narcotics, economic offenses division, foreign currency, smuggling of things of historical importance, buying and selling of wild animals and their parts.

Eligibility to become a CBI officer :

To become a CBI officer, you are required to do graduation from any stream.

• Final year students are also eligible.

• Minimum age of the candidate is 20 years.

Maximum age should be between 30 years.

• The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories is 35 years. • Your eyesight should be sharp.

• Your physical and mental condition should be good with a sharp mind. Men to become CBI officers

The height of the candidate should be 165 cm, and the height of female candidate should be at least 150 cm.

• A relaxation of 5 cm is given for reserved categories.

• For men, the chest measurement should be 76 cm when expanded.

How to become a CBI officer?

To become a CBI officer, you must have completed graduation. After graduation, you can become a CBI officer by giving competitive exam. Secondly, you can become a CBI officer even after deputation or promotion from the police department.

Exams for cbi officer:

To become a CBI, one has to appear for Group A UPSC Civil Exam. And one has to become IPS. When you work well on the post of IPS for 7 years, then you can go to CBI. Here you are given work for 3 to 4 years, its years can also be extended.

After passing UPSC CSE, you can also join CBI on the post of Deputy SP.

For the post of Inspector in CBI, one has to give SSC GCL exam, which consists of 4 stages.

TIER-1, TIER-2, TIER-3, TIER-4

TIER-1 : This is an objective type paper. It consists of 100 questions, for which 200 marks are prescribed. It consists of questions from Reasoning, General Awareness, English and Mathematics. This is a computer based exam. 2 hours time is given for this.

TIER-2 : In this, there is a paper of 200 marks on Quantitative Aptitude (quantitative aptitude in which questions like probability, data analysis are asked) and a paper of 200 marks on English. 2-2 hours are given for each paper. This exam is also computer based.

TIER-3 : This is an essay written examination. In this the questions have to be answered in detail.

TIER-4 : It consists of computer skills, interview and document verification. The candidates who are selected get joining after training.

Note- Any post above Sub Inspector is available only after promotion, if you want to become a CBI officer, then first you will have to become a Sub Inspector, and after promotion you can become a CBI officer.

CBI officer salary :

The salary of a CBI officer is Rs 10000 to Rs 35000 per month and grade pay is Rs 4200.

Apart from this, the facilities available to government employees, like residential quarters, dearness allowance, traveling allowance (TA), free medical, pension, all this are applicable.
